Eucalytus Globulus is also known as White Eucalyptus or Tasmanian Oak. It is a certain kind of Eucalyptus which is known by its special hardness and natural durability. It is light in colour, varying from straw to reddish brown with intermediate shades of cream to pink. It is also recognised for its excellent staining qualities, which allow ready matching with other timbers, finishes or furnishings.
Due to its quality, it is used for construction as scantlings, panelling, flooring, as well as peeled for heavy plywood purpose. Its value is also well-known by the packaging industry, especially when it is needed to deal with heavy duty or due to stow/load heavy components at commercial ports.
Eucalyptus Globulus is the biggest source in our area, where plantations of this specie reach up 55% of the forest. Therefore the Company has access to the best logs. Planks and blocks provided by stgwood are knot-free and 100% heartwood. The drying process is also controlled to ensure a maximal tolerance of 2% over the desiderated moisture.
Eucalyptus Globulus lumber is durable, hard and resistant. The density is around 800Kg/m3, while dimensions are restricted to a maximal length of 3.100mm and 120mm width.
