Eucalyptus Globulus Solid Flooring

Eucalyptus is an innovative alternative for solid flooring, decking and wood facade. It is a hardwood, is durable and is also environmentally friendly, as it is the only hardwood which is fast-growing. The natural durability of this wood is so that it can be used outdoor for decking and facades.

stgwood is placed right in the heart of the Eucalyptus forest in Spain and Portugal. Therefore the company has access to both the best logs, and the know-how. All the boards are knot-free and their dimensions are restricted to 3.100mm length and 120mm width.

stgwood takes care of choosing the best logs to warranty straight fibre and 100% heartwood. The cutting of the logs has been carefully developed to produce Quarter Cut blanks. This cut makes possible a better behaviour, especially in terms of dimensional stability. The drying process is also controlled by the company to ensure a maximal tolerance of 2% over the desiderated moisture.

The main advantages of Eucalyptus flooring supplied by stgwood are:

  • Environmentally friendly, as it is the only hardwood which is also a fast-growing specie.
  • Harder than Oak. Eucalyptus Globulus is much more dense and hard than White, Red or Black Oak.
  • Durable, as only heartwood coming from old trees is accepted for solid flooring boards.
  • Good looking. Eucalyptus boards are selected to be 100% knot-free from Quarter Cut planks.
  • Easy to dye and light coloured, which means that the final colour of the flooring might be easily matched to the customers preferences.
  • Suitable for outdoor use. Eucalyptus logs and milling process is defined to ensure the best behaviour making possible to use this wood for decking.
  • Eucalyptus surface is not slippery and therefore stripes in the planks are not needed when this wood is used as decking.
